The Vehicle Paint Technician’s job is to obtain the perfect finish with the increasingly sophisticated  equipment and paints in use today.  The Vehicle Paint Technician has to prepare, spray and finish damaged vehicles/light commercial vehicles, ensuring correct colour matching and final finish to the company and customers exacting standards.  As an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician you will learn repair, surface preparation and refinish to the manufacturer’s specifications.

During your training you will learn how to identify colour, select correct materials such as primers, base coats and clear coats which you will apply using spray equipment.  You will also learn how to use modern drying and curing techniques such as Ultra violet (UV), Infrared and catalytic solutions, used in the refinishing industry.  To the Vehicle Paint Technician, no two jobs are ever the same and a skilled person will normally have to deal with every vehicle make and type.
